Videoist2 24 -30 Kasım 2007 tarihleri arasında İstanbulModern’de gerçekleşecek .Birinci Videoist 2003 yılında iki yaka arasında sanal sanat köprüsü olmayı amaçlamış ve bunda da başarılı olmuştu. Bu yılki Videoist2’nin amaçlarından biri İstanbul merkezli gezici bir etkinlik olmak. Videoist2’nin ana durağı olan İstanbulModern’de açılışı 24 Kasım’da 16:30 da gerçekleşecek ve izleyici yerli yabancı 14 sanatçının video çalışması ile buluşacak.

Köken olarak latince “videre” kelimesinden gelen ve görüyorum anlamına gelen video kelimesi ile istanbul’un kısaltması olan ist kelimelerinin bileşiminden olusturulan Videoist ismi ilk olarak 2003 yılında ortaya çıktı. Bir sanatçı insiyatifi olarak kurulan Videoist bağımsız ve kar gütmeyen organizasyonlara imza atarken, düz bir bakışı öngören endüstriyel, formel, ticari organizasyonlara alternatif eğik bir bakışı destekliyor. İnsiyatifin isminin düz okunuşu gibi sadece video projeleri gerçekleştirmeyecek. Aynı zamanda farklı etkinliklere de yer vererek güncel sanat ortamına bir soluk olmayı amaçlıyor.

Video etkinliğinin organizasyonunu üstlenen sanatçılar Hülya Özdemir ve Ferhat Satıcı bu etkinlikle güncel sanat ortamında sanatsal bir belge olan video sanatının nitelikli ve dökümanter bir perspektifini oluşturmayı amaçlıyor.

Belli bir program dahilinde gösterimler ile gerçekleşecek etkinlik, bu yıl video sanatının farklı kuşak ve ülkeden sanatçılarını buluşturuyor. Videoist hakkındaki bilgilere www.videoist.org sitesinden ulaşabilirsiniz.

Videoist2 will actualize in İstanbulModern between 24 -30 November 2007. The First Videoist aimed to be an imaginary art bridge between two sides in 2003 and it was been successful. One of the aims of Videoist2 in this year is being a travelling activity whom centre is İstanbul. The opening of Videoist2 will realized in İstanbulModern which is the main station for this project on 24 November at 16:30 and the audience will get together with the works of 14 native-born and foreign artists.

The Videoist word which came out for the first time in 2003, formed by the composition of the word video the origin of this word is “videre” in Latin language which means ‘I see’ and the word ist which is the abbreviation of İstanbul. Videoist which was been set up as an initiative of artists is supporting looking awry as an alternative of industrial, formal, commercial organizations which suggest on a straight look, while it was signed the independent and profitless organizations. This initiative will not only realize the video projects just like the straight diction of the word. At the same time it aims to be a new breath for the actual ambient by giving place to the different activities.

Hülya Özdemir and Ferhat Kamil Satıcı who take upon the organization of the video activity are aiming to form the qualified and documentary perspective of the video art which is an artistic documentary of actual art.
